Dr. M. Ainelle Mercado, PsyD

Dr. Mercado is a clinical psychologist specializing in psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. As the founder and clinical director of Ascend Behavioral Center, she is passionate about helping individuals and families gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their unique strengths and challenges. She provides comprehensive assessments for a wide range of concerns, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, cognitive and learning difficulties, mood disorders, trauma, and social-emotional and behavioral challenges.

 

Dr. Mercado understands that seeking an evaluation can feel like a big step, and she is committed to making the process clear, supportive, and empowering. She takes the time to truly listen, ensuring that each assessment is personalized, research-based, and focused on practical solutions that make a real difference in daily life. Whether it’s helping parents better understand their child’s learning needs, guiding individuals toward the right mental health support, or providing recommendations for school and workplace accommodations, she believes in using assessments as a tool for positive change. In addition to her expertise in evaluations, Dr. Mercado also provides therapy, using cognitive-behavioral, strength-based, and solution-focused approaches to help clients navigate life’s challenges.

 

Outside of her work, she values self-care and enjoys reading, creative writing, and spending time in nature—activities that help her recharge and stay present for the people she works with. Above all, she is committed to creating a warm and welcoming space where individuals feel heard, understood, and supported in their journey toward growth and well-being.
